Understanding RC Car drift
You must have seen those grand car chases in the movies where cars take swift turns across the corners and slide sideways while doing that. This is called drifting and is a very common phenomenon in contemporary remote control car circuit.
This is being pursued both as a hobby and as a competition. Normally, the RC cars would have required some tweaking for getting the cars ready for drifting. But with this activity becoming more popular, you can now get cars which ready to get drifting on the road.
A four wheel drive remote control car is required for getting the front and rear parts of the RC car to go sideways without loosing control or get into looping. Generally, electric RC cars are preferred as they are light weight.
You will also need some specific tires as drifting is very hard on tires. Hard rubber tires are used as they are suitable for drifting but they are very expensive. Other effective and cheap alternatives have been identified such as use of PVC pipes around the wheel to generate the same effect. This can be done by cutting four pieces of the PVC pipe equal to the size of the wheels and pressing the pieces on the outer surface of the wheel.
The modifications of Suspension can also be made but are generally optional for most of the cars. The new age cars generally have necessary suspension to handle the pressure of the drifting.
Requirements of motor and engine are much more stringent as real drifting is going to take a lot of power out of the engine and the motor. Stock motors are a big no for the activity, as they will not be able to take it. So you will have to get the engine upgraded if you really want to have the fun. The upgrade should ensure that there is a proper balance of speed and torque in the engine.

Having got your car ready for the act, its time you yourself get ready for it. So here is what you need to do.
Get on the road and while you are turning, keep your car on high speed. When the tires start loosing traction, steer the car while it is skidding. The front tires will start pulling the front of the car in the same direction. You have to prevent your car from looping. And you will find your RC car really drifting giving you all the fun and the thrill.
