Now that you have settled on the car that is to be converted into a drift car, you will have to start on the actual conversion process. There are various ways to start with and you can decide where you want to begin with. As a tutor, I will be guiding you to take the right path quickly so that you have some time to settle down.

People generally construe that for drifting you need lots of engine power to take complete control as you drift in a small place or a corner. I will guide you as a tutor to come out of this misconception.

You would require a twisted and an altered suspension so that it would be practically impossible to lose the control of your car when you are passing from the corner.

Now, that the point is clear, let us begin.

You need to write down the spares and components that you would need and most importantly, you need to abide by the list. Don’t buy unnecessary things such as shining knobs and steering wheels. What you need is components such as sway bars and polyurethane bushings. Surely, you want to convert the car in to a drift car and not some fashionable car, so you need to look for substance and not the appearance of the car.

Focus on the components that you would need to make the suspension powerful. If you take care of the suspension, your car will generate 150 horse power and will glide smoothly. Hence for a proper suspension you will need:

• New sturdy helmet
• Coil overs that can be adjusted
• Sway bars much bigger in size
• Stut bars
• LSD or limited slip differential
• Bushings made of Polyurethane
• Racing harnesses of 5/6 points as certified by SFI 16.1

These are the necessary components required to get you going. The total cost of all the components would sum up to $4000 to $5000.

Points to be remembered while looking out for components:

• Research thoroughly.
• You need to gather knowledge about the spares and the brands that make them.
• You will gather lots of information through forums, internet, try to get an insight about the advantages and disadvantages of the particular spares that you intend to buy.
• By spending some time on collecting information, you will save more in terms of money as well as time by not having to go through the unwanted items.
